Our Story

It all began in early 2013, when our search for our dream home led us to a small suburban housing area located on the fringe of a forest reserve in Cheras, less than 15 minutes from downtown KL. The tranquility of the natural surroundings corresponded perfectly with our love for nature and all things green.

After months of sourcing and pouring over eco design plans, renovations finally started in July 2014. It was within the first month of renovation works that an inquisitive Dusky Leaf Monkey (an endangered and fully protected primate) came to visit. It was then that we realized that this was more than just an intermediate terrace house in a ‘taman’ (garden), but a potential synergist for the conservation of nature and all things that make Malaysia unique.

Literally translated from the English word ‘Dusk Leaf’, ‘Daun Senja’ somehow became the obvious choice of a name that best embodied the sense of serenity and oneness with nature this home evokes.
